NBA Draft 2013: 76ers Trade Jrue Holiday for Nerlens Noel

According to Yahoo Sports, the Sixers have landed one of the top prospects in the NBA Draft in Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel. But it came at a price, as the Sixers will give up All-Star Jrue Holiday.

Noel is coming off of a torn ACL, and likely will not be ready to make his debut until Christmas. I’m cool with that, as long as Noel is able to stay healthy from that point on. In other words, I don’t want him to be the next Andrew Bynum or Greg Oden.

In one year at Kentucky, Noel averaged 10.5 ppg, 9.5 rebounds, and 4.4 blocks. Like Greg Oden’s scouting report after being drafted, Noel is considered a defensive stud, who is very raw offensively.

The Sixers went on to draft Syracuse’s Michael Carter-Williams with the number 11 overall pick to replace Holdiay.
