Carlos Ruiz Leaves Game With Strained Hamstring; Will Have MRI Monday

In this afternoon’s Phillies-Reds Freddy Galvis hit a line drive down the first-base line, that hit the umpire, and you would have thought that the first-base umpire was the one injured. Instead Carlos Ruiz, came up lame in the process of advancing from first to third and appeared to pull his hamstring. Chooch stayed in the game for the remainder of the inning, and went back out for the third inning to field, but later was replaced by Eric Kratz.

Chooch was diagnosed with a hamstring strain, but how long he will be out for, is in question at this point.

Update: According to CBS Philly, Carlos Ruiz “felt a pop” while running, and will have an MRI tomorrow. It is a presumed hamstring injury, but we will know more tomorrow after Ruiz gets the results back from his MRI.
