So Michael Vick Beat LeSean McCoy In A Race Today

Michael Vick has certainly taken a step back as an overall quarterback since finishing second in the MVP race in 2010, but it appears his speed might not have taken quite as big of a hit as NFL fans thought.

Let’s put this into perspective. Michael Vick is a 32 year-old quarterback viewed by many too have had his best days behind him, and LeSean McCoy is a 24 year-old running back, either in his prime, or still not having reached his prime. But Vick won the 40 yard-dash against McCoy, who reportedly has been trying to motivate Vick this off-season by constantly reminding him of his age, and his critics saying that he has lost a step.

And Vick says he not only won the race, which ended up being against LeSean McCoy, but he won by a decent amount.

In the end, the news of Vick beating McCoy in a race can be taken one of two ways. Either it can excite you that Michael Vick still has the speed, and make you think that Vick is a match made in heaven for a Chip Kelly offense, or you can remember that winning a 40-yard dash doesn’t translate to Mike Vick demonstrating better ability to read defenses, go through his progressions, or not turn over the ball. I’m going with option number two.
