Eagles Select LSU Defensive Tackle Bennie Logan In The Third Round

While Chip Kelly and the Eagles addressed two offensive needs in the first two rounds of the NFL draft by selecting Lane Johnson and Zach Ertz, the Eagles still had major holes defensively that needed to be addressed in the later rounds of the draft. In the third Chip Kelly and the Eagles brass filled one of the defensive needs by selecting defensive-tackle Bennie Logan of LSU.

Logan played three seasons under Les Miles at LSU, and is 6’1 and 309 lbs. Logan has a strong ability to get after the quarterback, and is the first step in adding depth to a defense that was depleted last year.

Logan, will help Fletcher Cox on the defensive-line, as the Eagles switch to the 3-4 scheme under new defensive-coordinator Billy Davis.

The Eagles still have major holes in their secondary, as they will likely look from here to add depth at both the corner and safety positions next.
