As the Phillies continue to struggle offensively, some sort of help may soon be on the way.  Outfielder Delmon Young, who the Phillies signed to a one-year deal in the offseason, is making a minor league rehab start for the Phillies single-A affiliate the Clearwater Threshers today.

The 27 year-old Young, is recovering from off-season ankle surgery, and figures to compete with John Maberry and Laynce Nix for time in right-field once he returns from the injury. While Young won’t provide a great average, he figures to be an upgrade over both Nix and Mayberry power-wise, which could help the offensively starved Phils.
