Phils Fall To Reds 1-0 In 9th Inning in Continuation of Rain Suspended Game

Last night was a game full of rain delays, and not much hitting. Overall it was a strange game because not often, do you see a game have a rain delay to start, get picked up and then end in the middle of the ninth inning in a 0-0 tie. That suspension of the game, set up what had the potential to be a back-to-back double header today, with the Phils squaring off with the Reds at at 5:30 and then again at 7.

The Reds however, didn’t treat today’s first game as a double-header as they made quick work of Phillippe Amount and the Phillies in the home half of the ninth, culminating with a Jay Bruce single to right-field scoring Brandon Phillips to win the game.

Tonight at 7, the Phils and Reds will finish off of their three game set with the Reds looking for the sweep. The Phils will give the ball to John Lannan, who has been superb to this point posting a 2.77 ERA,  while the Reds will counter Mike Leake, who has struggled thus far, posting a 6.75 ERA through two starts. For those of you who want to avoid Sarge, Wheels, and T-Mac, the game can be found on ESPN2 as well.
