#Orioles just picked up Phillies pitcher Julio Rodriguez in exchange for Ronnie Welty.

The Phillies first acquire 25 year-old outfielder Ronnie Welty, who has displayed a solid glove in the minors and is a career .284 hitter. The highest Welty reached was the Double-A level late last season. Welty figures to provide depth at Double-A Reading and potentially even Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.
The Phillies ship away RHP, Julio Rodriguez, who has tremendous stuff, but struggled with his command mightily at Double-A Reading in 2012, so much that he was taken out of the starting rotation late in the season. However, the 22 year-old Rodriguez did pitch in last year MLB Futures Game, and if he ever learns how to consistently throw strikes, could project as solid late inning reliever at the MLB level.
