What The Phillies Would Look Like With Torii Hunter

Let me just start out by saying that the Philadelphia Phillies would be a way better team with Torii Hunter in their lineup.

During this past offseason, the Phillies attempted to sign outfielder, Torii Hunter. Hunter said he considered signing with the Phillies before the Detroit Tigers.

Hunter ended up signing with the Tigers to a two-year, 26 million dollar contract.

Hunter said, “I considered it big time. Some of my favorite guys are over there, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins. The Tigers acted quick. But the Phillies were in it. They are a great team and a organization. I’m an American League guy and I liked the familiarity I had with the league. I grew up in the AL Central with Minnesota so I’m familiar with the division.”

Although Hunter is 37 years old, he still puts up pretty good numbers. Last season, he had a batting average of .313, hit 16 homeruns, and drove in 92 RBI’s. Just imagine how much better the Phillies would be with Hunter and the great stats he puts up. Just imagine how improved the Phils outfield would be as well. Another great thing about having a guy like Torii Hunter is you could place him in many different places in the lineup. Charlie Manuel would have many different options; maybe before Chase Utley, or maybe behind Ryan Howard. He is also a right-handed batter, which is great. Not only that, but you can tell by what he said that he is a big fan of this ball club.

I bet Phillies fans were wishing we would’ve have signed him. He would make a huge impact and a great addition.
