Just as it finally appears that Andrew Bynum is closing in on making his return, debut for that matter, the Sixers took a huge loss today.

In the same week that the Sixers lost Thad Young for three weeks, the Jrue Crew found out today that veteran sharpshooter Jason Richardson will be out for the season.  Richardson has opted to have surgery on his ailing left knee, which has had Richardson’s status up in the air for a couple of weeks now. Richardson believes he will be out for 9-12 months, and some are questioning whether Richardson’s career may be coming to a close.

Richardson, acquired in the Andrew Bynum/Dwight Howard mega-deal, was averaging a career low 10.5 points per game and shooting just 34 percent from downtown.
