During yesterday’s practice at Lehigh University safety Nate Allen collided in mid-air with cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. Asomugha was left face down on the ground for several minutes after he took off his helmet. He laid motionless while the trainers evaluated him on the field. Eventually he walked off under his own power; however he had a bloody lip.
Later that day the team announced that he had suffered a lacerated lip and a sore neck, but he did not have a concussion or any concussion like symptoms. Earlier this morning it was reported that Asomugha has whip lash-like symptoms. He was absent from the team’s morning walk-through today.
This Thursday offensive tackle Tra Thomas will officially retire from the NFL as a Philadelphia Eagle. He announced yesterday that his playing days are over. The three-time Pro Bowler anchored the offensive line during the 2000s for the birds. Thomas played his last game for the Eagles in 2008.
