It's Official: Bynum Heading to Philly

It’s done. The trade that has been rumored all over ESPN and Twitter late Thursday night has officially been completed early this morning. This blockbuster deal involves four NBA franchises. The trade includes the Los Angeles Lakers, the Orlando Magic, the Denver Nuggets and the Philadelphia Sixers.

Here is a breakdown of what each team is getting in this:

Los Angeles Lakers: Dwight Howard

Denver Nuggets: Andre Iguodala

Philadelphia Sixers: Andrew Bynum, Jason Richardson

Orlando Magic: Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless, a protected 1st round pick from the other three teams

This deal is a steal for the Sixers. There is no doubt about that. Bynum has great potential. He has been criticized for his injured past and also some experts say he is immature and uncoachable, but Doug Collins will be able to reach Bynum and change him in to a true Sixer. To get this great player the Sixers only ship Vucevic and Harkless. Vuc was a great player this past season and it seems that he will turn out to be a consistent and reliable player in the National Basketball Association. Harkless is a high draft pick by the Sixers who seems to be promising, but he doesn’t have any work to support his case.

I love that the Sixers unloaded the overpaid bum that goes by the name of Andre Iguodala. His contract was absurd for his production. The national media overhypes Iguodala. They think he is this great player because he gets voted to all-star games and gets selected for the Olympic team, but they don’t see him every night like us die-hard Philly fans. I am ecstatic to be a Sixers fan today. I know we all should be excited that the Eagles hit the field for the first time against a team with a different jersey, but Adam Aron and the Sixers trumped them by making the biggest splash in the NBA offseason.
